Electro-Mechanical Liquid Paint flow rate-modulating system. Combines state of the art electronics with reliable mechanical components to provide accurate repeatable flow rate control to automated liquid paint finishing systems.

Automated finishing tools enable a coater the ability to better control the finishing process. When a painting system is developed using reciprocators or robots the gun to target distance, angle and speed is very repeatable. Add a good Pressure Panel and constant finishing line temperature and a repeatable finish is obtainable.

If the paint line ambient or paint temperature fluctuates a closed loop paint control system may be necessary to maintain quality and reduce cost. High solids liquid coating can vary as much as 1 second in viscosity for every 3 degrees in temperature. As the temperature changes the finishing line operator must adjust the paint flow pressures to compensate for the viscosity variables.

Using a Closed Loop Fluid Control Package the paint flow rate is automatically adjusted for viscosity variations. Once the flow rate is set the operator is free for other duties. The control system will automatically monitor and control the paint flow rate to the spray guns.

A Closed Loop Fluid Control Package consists of a number of channels of control where each channel of control consists of a monitoring device (Flow Meter), controlling device (Pressure Regulator), and a process device, (Computer Control). In each channel of flow control the Computer Control receives a desired flow rate signal from an operator or computer and adjusts the Pressure Regulator until the correct flow is passing through the Flow Meter.
